COOL stands for Council of Our Library. It's a dedicated group of
5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders who want to take control of the library.
Well, maybe not "take control", but kids who want to have
a say about what goes on here.
As a library user, you have a stake in what goes on here. We want
your opinion about which books we should buy, what types of programs
you want the library to host, and other ways we can improve the library
for kids like you.
Members of the COOL group participate on one of the four subcommittees.
The Programs subcommittee helps decide what types of programs the
library will host. The Book Review subcommittee reviews and requests
titles to add to the Young Adult collection. The Website subcommittee
discusses and plans for the Youth Services web page. And the Public
Relations subcommittee gets the word out on what we all do. Each
subcommittee works with a member of the library staff to coordinate
their efforts.
Join us by filling out the application form,
including your parent's signature, and returning it to the Youth
Services reference desk.
