MyLibraryDV - Downloadable Videos

To use MyLibraryDV to watch videos you need to download and install a program on your home computer. After installing the software you will be asked for your library card number to verify that you are a resident of the Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District.

After the program is run for the first time it will need to update itself before many of the more recent feature films and television series are available for download. You will be prompted to restart the program when it finds the update.

Please note:

To use the MyLibraryDV program you must have the following:

  • Windows XP with SP2 or Windows 2000 with SP4.
  • A high speed (DSL or Cable) Internet connection
  • At least 1GB of free disk space.
  • Playback performance may be degraded if CPU is less then 1GHz.
  • Windows Media Player 10 or above with the most recent DRM security update. If Windows Media Player is not installed you will be prompted to do so.

Not all of the movies will be immediately available for download. The MyLibraryDV software needs to install some updates before some of the newer movies are available. For more information see thes FAQ.

Unfortunately this program does not work on the Macintosh operating system at this time. We hope that this will be available in the future.
