The Winnetka-Northfield Public Library offers a variety of books, audiobooks and videos that you can download and use whenever you like. Because this is a new and developing service there are some system requirements which may be insurmountable for some users. We are always trying to improve our service and will continue to do our best to make these services available to all users as soon as there are viable alternatives. We do now have a variety of iPod and Mac friendly options available.
My Media Mall offers audiobooks, ebooks and videos which can be downloaded to your personal computer and enjoyed anywhere on a wide range of portable devices including MP3 players (iPods), Pocket PCs, Smartphones, PDAs and even burned to CD.
To get started, go to the My Media Mall site, sign on with your library card number, and install the free software for your computer (both Mac & PC).

You can download both digital books and digital audio books from NetLibrary. The digital books require Adobe Reader to be installed and work on Windows and Apple computers.
NetLibrary has two kinds of audiobooks: WMA and MP3. WMA audiobooks require Windows Media Player and a Windows-compatible WMA player. MP3 audiobooks will work on most portable players, including Apple iPods (connected to Windows computers). A valid Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District card is required to enter the site, after which you can create a free account.
Note: You do not need to use NetLibrary's Media Center to download audiobooks. The Media Center is incompatible with 64-bit versions of Windows.
