Blog Posting Guidelines and User Agreement

 

Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District blogs (short for “web logs”) are moderated blogs.  Articles appearing on the main page are postings of Library Staff.  Users of the website with valid usernames and passwords are eligible to post responses to these articles.  Usernames for Library blogs are different from logins for the Library’s catalog and do not require a valid library card. 

Responses to postings on the Library District’s blog will be reviewed and considered for posting by Library Staff using the following guidelines:

  1. Responses are reasonably related to the article or comment to which the response is directed;

  2. Responses may not be used to advertise products or services for profit (book recommendations may be appropriate);

  3. Responses must use appropriate language and tone, e.g., as if a response was a discussion in a live public forum such as a book discussion at the Library.

HTML coding will be removed from posted comments.

Posted comments are not necessarily those of Library Staff or the Library District.

Violation of these guidelines may result in cancellation of access to the Library District’s blog.
